Lavashak is Iran's much-loved fruit leather: ripe fruit is cooked down to a thick purée, spread thin on trays and sun-dried into flexible, glossy sheets. It is sour, sweet and intensely fruity, and in Iran it is sold in colourful stacks in bazaars and school tuck shops. Our 250 g packs come in three classic flavours: sour plum, pomegranate and apricot.
Pakistanis who grew up on imli, chooran and khatti meethi goliyan take to lavashak instantly. Tear off a strip as a tangy snack, roll it up for children's lunchboxes, or cut it into small squares to serve with chai. Sour plum is the sharpest and most traditional, pomegranate is bright and tart, and apricot is the mildest and sweetest of the three.
